Containment is an exercise that counselors teach clients to help contain a stress or trauma to be dealt with later. Emergency responders and their families do not always have the time to sit down and process stressors but need a way to set it aside and march on with their day. Use this quick but powerful counselor-led exercise to contain these difficult emotions. Then, when you have the time and quiet space, you can re-access these thoughts to deal with and store them properly!
