Course Objectives

Discuss the subjectivity of “normality” and the challenges people diagnosed with mental illness face in seeking help and getting treatment.

Discover some of the most commonly diagnosed mental illnesses, including neurodevelopmental disorders, mood disorders, and personality disorders.

Identify signs and symptoms of common disorders and how these often present themselves in everyday life.

Discuss some of the more common disorders that responders also suffer from, how to identify those symptoms in your peers, and how to best intervene.
