Course Overview

Course Length: 1 Hour

Returning to full duty after an extended absence can be difficult, especially if the absence is due to a stressful event, such as a critical incident or military deployment. Agencies are encouraged to ensure these returning responders are physically and emotionally prepared for their return and have received adequate training and resources to feel confident in performing their duties. This course takes a look at elements of successful reintegration strategies following extended absences, injuries, military deployments, and critical incidents. Though intended as part of the peer support curriculum addressing peer support’s role in this process, this course is also beneficial in foundational concepts for agencies looking to implement their own reintegration procedure.
